Description
Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical microinjection treatment that eliminates unsightly clusters of spider veins.
Additional Details
Treatment: A solution called a sclerosant is injected directly into the vein. This solution causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is then reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades away. | Purpose: Elimination of the web-like small red or purple veins that appear close to the skin’s surface. |
Results: Treated veins typically fade within a few weeks, although in some cases it can take up to a month to see full results. Additionally, it may take several sclerotherapy treatments to achieve optimum results. | Recovery: No recovery or down time. Wearing compression garments is recommended after treatment. |
Pain Level: Slight needle prick. | Duration: 15-60 minutes depending on how many veins need to be treated |
